Out of the Box Call: HBCx and CVON Early HFPEF - She Predicts

We would like to draw your attention to 2 Out of the Box calls for young talents:

CVON Early HFPEF and ShePredicts
For all young talented postdocs or talented PhD students in their final stage.
Content wise/topic:Pathomechanisms of HFpEF has a female predominance, but the mechanisms explaining these sex differences are largely unclear. This call aims to initiate research to further disentangle sex differences in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). These include metabolic and cellular mechanisms induced by diabetes, hypertension and obesity leading to later development of diastolic dysfunction and its progression to HFpEF.
What: costs either for exchange (salary for working in another research group either in the Netherlands or abroad, only if salary not already covered) and/or costs for experiments (bench fee for studying female sex specific mechanisms in existing samples).
Total amount: 3 grants of max 30.000 euro per grant, covering either salary and/or bench fee costs.
Duration: 12 months maximum.
Who? Open to all investigators within CVON projects, as long as the focus is on HFpEF and its mechanisms and early recognition.
Deadline: 1-1-2021
